Congratulations to all the squad, particularly our own Ebonie Lewis and Caley McGinty. Click here for a report.

West of England Under 16's Championship

Not tired from the week above, Ebonie (pictured) produced two brilliant rounds to win the best gross prize at Minchinhampton yesterday reducing her handicap to -1.2. Caley although disappointed with her morning round, recovered to shoot a new ladies course record of 69 in the afternoon.

Ebonie Lewis

Ebonie Lewis produced an amazing performance at the English Ladies Strokeplay Championship held at Bristol & Clifton.

After comfortably making the cut, the final 36 holes saw Ebonie a combined 5 under par as she surged into 3rd place on her own against a field containing numerous international players. This no doubt caught the eye of the national selectors and Ebonie will surely soon be representing her country again soon.

Her handicap has now dropped to -1.0, a remarkable achievement for a 15 year old.

Knowle Gold Medal

A perfect day for golf and a Course set up to match meant that the full field of 60 players started the day with great anticipation for a low scoring day.

Of the early cards in round 1, it was a case of what might of been with several otherwise excellent scores ruined by one disastrous 7 or 8 and even in one case, an 11.

As the lower handicaps started to filter in the expectation was for some red numbers to follow. Aside from Joe Long from Lansdown with a 69, they did not really materialise.

Nick Day the winner of the last three years surprised no one when he came in with the best score of the morning. A stunning 62, just missing out by one shot from equalling the course record that has stood since 1994, meant he held an enormous 7 shot lead.

In the afternoon, although 3 under through 10 holes, Day didn't quite match the dizzy heights of the morning round and signed for a level par 70 for a total of 132. His fourth successive win in the event matching Club mate Malcolm Lewis' feat in the early 1980s. A tremendous achievement.

Ebonie Lewis Wins again

Posted by Ryan Coles  |  Posted on 2nd August 2016

Ebonie Lewis along with partner Charlie Hiatt shocked the local golfing scene when they became the first female winners of the West Of England 4BBB Championship at the Kendleshire.

They left over 100 pairs trailing in their wake with a superb score of -13 gross over the two days.

Ebonie recently reduced her handicap to scratch and this win will no doubt give her huge confidence leading in to her next few events.
