Rodney Tugwell awarded Honorary Life Membership of the GGU

Posted by Ryan Coles  |  Posted on 16th November 2011

At the Gloucestershire Golf Union AGM, Rodney Tugwell became only the 9th person in the 105 year history of the Gloucestershire Golf Union to be elected as an Honorary Life Member.

Rodney's involvement with Gloucestershire spans over 50 years, both as a player and adminstrator and encompasses being Junior Captain, a County First Team regular, County Captain, South West Counties Champion and South West Counties Captain. He has been involved in Junior Golf for many years at County level and was instrumental in establishing the current coaching programmes for Gloucestershire's squads whilst serving on the County's Executive Committee as Coaching Chairman.

Congratulations to Rodney on this prestigious and well deserved honour. It is one that I know he's very proud of and something that we should all celebrate.
